peer mental health coaching

In 2020 Lighthouse Christian Ministries began offering a new service ministry, Peer Mental Health Coaching.  Staff members and volunteers who have undergone training in the Gateway to Hope mental health curriculum are available to anyone in the Bacliff, San Leon, Bayview, or Kemah area.

Gateway to Hope is a training that provides peer coaches with tools to help those living with mental illness. It allows coaches to be an open door to those in distress by learning techniques for identifying mental illness, developing effective situational responses, and learning to quickly connect those in distress with professional care.

Services are available on a one-on-one basis.  For more information or to schedule an intake appointment, contact Fran in the Medical Clinic at 281-339-3033, ext. 302 or email at fran@lighthousecm.org

"The biggest benefit to having a faith-based mental health coach is that it is faith-based. That is the biggest deal for me because I know it just isn't about me trying to solve these problems, that I have God's help too."
