education
For most of us, graduating is a right of passage we simply take for granted. For other students, graduation never happens and they never experienced the joy of walking across the stage and receiving a diploma. At Lighthouse Christian Ministries, students can work towards their educational goals. LCM’s education program includes college scholarships for non-traditional students, a work/trade program helping neighbors re-enter the workforce, and GED classes to help neighbors earn their general education diploma.

LCM’s Work/Trade Program is for our neighbors who wish to reenter the workforce, but they face some barrier such as attaining a specialized license, special equipment, or other barriers that prevent them from attaining gainful employment. For details contact katie@lighthousecm.org
Free GED tutoring classes are offered at LCM. Classes are Tuesday-Wednesday-Thursday 10am-3pm. Our next session begins Tuesday, August 18th at 10 am. Classes follow the Dickinson ISD schedule. Classes are FREE, but students need to buy a book at Lighthouse at the reduced rate of $20. Financial assistance for book purchase is available for those in need.

When I wanted to give up because life issues were hard, finances were short, and the job was tough, they encouraged me to keep going and never give up believing that God has a purpose and a plan for my life. They helped me get where I am today mentally, spiritually, and emotionally. When my daughter was diagnosed with bone cancer, LCM embraced me and helped my family get through it. I am truly blessed that God chose me and my husband to be in the scholarship program."
